Lessons

Learn to play polo

Lessons at a small club, with good horses and someone who knows how to teach right beside you. Wherever you're starting from, you start the same way: on the horse.

Two starting points

You've never played

You don't need a horse, gear or the slightest idea. You start with the basics: how to mount and how to hit the ball. You go at your own pace, with a pro by your side. Most of the people playing at La Lejanía today started exactly like that.

You already play

If you come from another club and want to raise your level, here you'll find good horses, a well-kept field and real practice. Practices run during the week —not just on weekends— and teams are balanced so polo is fun.

“I've had a lot of coaches in my life. Mariano gets across what he knows better than anyone.”
— Sawyer, USA

How we teach

What people praise most

It's what comes up most when we ask our clients: how we teach. No yelling, no rushing, explaining the why behind everything and adapting to the person in front of us. A 17-year-old who wants to go pro and someone who wants to have fun on Saturdays aren't the same, and they aren't taught the same way.

“When I got back on a horse, he was one of the few who really taught me. I love the way he teaches — that’s what drew me in the most.”
— Jennifer, USA

The horses

Horses are half of polo. Ours are well schooled and well cared for: each one is chosen for the level of its rider. If you're just starting, you'll ride a calm horse that knows more than you do. If you already play, you'll have what you need.

And if what you're after takes more horses, we'll find them.

Come give it a try

Message us and we'll set up a first lesson. Tell us whether you've played before, so we can get the right horse ready.
